                  Why should you consider Immanuel?

History of Immanuel College & Seminary Intl.:

Immanuel had its beginning in 1951.  It is chartered under the laws of the state of Georgia.  This charter grants all the privileges enjoyed by any and all educational institutions in the state.

The Seminary began under the auspices of Immanuel Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, and for the greater part of the life of the school was housed in buildings furnished by the church.  In 1979, Immanuel purchased thirty-two (32) acres of property for our new campus at the intersection of Highways 54 and 34, just west of Peachtree City, Georgia.  Peachtree City is located twenty-five (25) miles south of Atlanta Georgia and west of the world’s largest airport.  The new campus is located between two beautiful new planned cities of Georgia – Peachtree City and Shenandoah/ White Oak.  This area is considered one of the fastest growing areas of Georgia.

Immanuel has grown from an institution of several students and a few instructors to a much larger student body and faculty.  All this has happened in only a few years as God has mightily blessed us.  We are looking for great things.  The promise is that He is able to do abundantly and exceedingly ABOVE all that we ask or think.  In the past few years, it has been our joy to see many graduates go forth into the ministry of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ at home and abroad.  We are further happy to say that since the founding of Immanuel, more than 6000 alumni have trained at the College and Seminary.

Purpose:

Immanuel exists for the purpose of providing a Christian education for those called of God to various Christian ministries.  It is dedicated to evangelism and missions with emphasis on reaching this generation with the message of Christ’s Gospel.  Thus, graduates of Immanuel should be able to:

·         Communicate clearly the message of Jesus Christ.

·         Be stable, mature Christian persons shining in a world of darkness.

·         Serve the Lord as an informed Christian citizen and servant.

·         Be able to do independent study and enjoy intellectual pursuits.

·         Be committed and competent for service to mankind consistent with the Great Commission of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Facilities:

The operations of the College are housed in a beautiful new 9600 square foot education and administration building, which housed classrooms, administration offices, and a Christian bookstore for students and community, the R.G. Lee Memorial Library, and the J. Harold Smith Auditorium.

Housing:

Although a 15,000 square fool dorm and classroom facility is under construction, at the present time, the school does not have housing facilities on campus.  However, we will work with students who seek housing in close proximity to our campus.

Design and Character:

Immanuel Bible College and Theological Seminary exists for the purpose of developing a deeper and more thorough knowledge and understanding of the Word of God and of developing more effective ministerial methods of serving and pleasing God.  Immanuel is an endeavor to promote biblical, theological, and educational programs in the traditions of the conservative, inerrancy, and premillennial position. The college and seminary emphasizes the academic and practical skills, which are essential for the Christian ministry. The curriculum of the college and seminary is designed to challenge the student to develop a strong doctrinal and practical Christian life and ministry.  The college and seminary is also designed to acquaint the student with and prepare the student for the functions and ministry of the local church in our society.

Educational Philosophy:

A CALL TO PREACH IS A CALL TO PREPARE.

Immanuel seeks to train mature learners to seek God's will for their lives as they develop their God-given abilities and their potential. We emphasize “how to learn” as well as “what to learn”. Our educational philosophy is based on the basic fundamental and conservative Christian approach to education rather than the humanistic progressive systems of education. We seek to harmonize all academic disciplines with God's Truth as revealed in His Holy inerrant Word.

Why an External Degree Program is needed:

If the student cannot come to college or seminary, IT can come to the student through Regional Campus classes, the External Degree Program, or through the Immanuel-Judson Bible Institute.

We have had many students witness to the fact that their educational experience and high level of training at Immanuel has been a positive experience in their ministry.

Why should you consider Immanuel?

IMMANUEL is a charter member of the Georgia Federation of Christian Colleges and Christian Universities--a Division of the American Federation of Christian Colleges and Schools.  This is non-governmental and non-regional accreditation.

IMMANUEL is committed to a strong theological position.  Since 1951, Immanuel has remained committed to the authority of the inerrant Word of God, to the premillennial position, to genuine Christian living through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, and to training the individual for serving and pleasing God in ministry.

IMMANUEL is committed to excellence in continuing education. Our External Degree Program is an excellent way to pursue your Masters or Doctorate or refresh your ministry through seminars and special courses while continuing your present job.

IMMANUEL is committed to worldwide missions. The graduates of Immanuel are literally all over the world.  Immanuel has campuses in India, Korea, Nigeria, the Philippines, and, of course, the United States.

IMMANUEL offers accessibility. Regional Campuses have been carefully selected to serve students living throughout the country. If there is not a Regional Campus in your area, there is the possibility of placing one there. Another alternative is our External Degree Program for the Individual.

IMMANUEL is experienced in on-campus AND distance education. A quality curriculum plus dedicated and learned professors make sure that every student receives a challenging and rewarding experience whether on-campus or working through the Regional Campus or External Degree Program.

IMMANUEL offers quality and affordability. We are proud of our faculty, our curriculum, AND our personal concern for and service of each student. We get to know you personally and take an Interest in YOUR ministry.
