Immanuel's Statement Of Doctrine:We believe the whole Bible from
Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21 as the verbally inspired, inerrant, and
infallible Word of God. We believe in the special creation
of the world and the historicity of the first eleven chapters of Genesis. We believe in the Trinity, one God
in three persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, each
member co-equal to the other. We believe in the sovereignty of
God. We believe that God chose,
foreknew, and foreordained not only His great plan, but also all that would be a
part of His great redemptive Purpose by His grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
We believe that the sovereign work and choice of the Holy Spirit, man is
convicted of sin and illumined. As
he responds to God's grace in faith, he, as one of the Elect, receives the
Spirit of Adoption, is predestined unto the adoption of sons and predestines to
be conformed to the image of the Lord Jesus Christ, and thus, anticipates his
adoption, the redemption of his body. We
believe Jesus Christ was born of Mary, the virgin, and is the Son of God, as
well as God, the Son. We
believe that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, the Just for
the unjust that He might bring us to God. We
believe that He rose from the grave the third day according to the Scriptures. We believe that He, only, is the
great High Priest. No other but Christ ever lived to make intercession for us. We
believe in the imminent, pre-tribulation Rapture of the Church and the
pre-millennial return of Christ in Person, bodily, visibly, to establish His
Kingdom on the earth. We believe in the person of the Holy Spirit. We believe that in order to be saved, one must be
born again. (John 3:3). We believe in the eternal salvation of the redeemed
and the eternal punishment of the wicked. We believe in the literal existence of the devil. We
believe that the local church is a body of baptized believers, (Immersion),
whose mission is not to "reform the world", but is to preach and teach
the Gospel of salvation to the individual. We
believe, in summary, that a New Testament believer is one who believes in a
supernatural Bible which tells of a supernatural Christ, who had a supernatural
birth, who spoke supernatural words, who performed supernatural miracles, who
lived a supernatural life, who died a supernatural death, who rose in
supernatural power, who ascended in supernatural splendor, who intercedes as a
supernatural Priest, and who will one day return in supernatural glory to
establish a supernatural kingdom on the earth.
ADDENDUM: Immanuel
Bible College and Theological Seminary does not recognize the modern tongues
movement to be biblically based. Hence,
no student is encouraged to pursue or promote this phenomenon while studying at
Immanuel. We recognize that about 50 conservative Christian scholars translated the King James Version (KJV). The KJV is the only Bible that has ever been translated from the Majority Text. We
recognize that all other Bibles, New Testaments, and versions published since
1880 were translated from the recent Minority Text produced by the liberals.
We also recognize that some of the Bibles and versions published since
1880 were translated by liberals who deny some portions of the Bible as being
the Word of God. Thus,
we are persuaded that the King James Version is the best of all Bibles now in
existence. We further believe that the King James Version is the nearest to the original manuscripts and that it is more accurate than all of the other translations and versions. We recognize that the King James Version has human problems. But we believe that every problem has a solution, even though we do not now have all of the solutions. We do not believe that the King James Version has errors or mistakes.
